SANSA Space Science Open Day

On 3 October 2026, the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) Space Science facility in Hermanus will open its doors to the public for its annual Open Day.

The event provides an opportunity for the public to explore the world of science and space technology, engage with SANSA researchers, scientists and engineers, and discover how space science contributes to our everyday lives.

Who can attend: Adults and children are welcome

What to Expect?

Visitors can look forward to a day filled with exciting and educational activities, including: Interactive exhibits presented by SANSA researchers, scientists and engineers, as well as external exhibitors, Hands-on science activities and Interactive science shows for children, Public lectures exploring topics in space science and technology, Space Weather and Public tours of the SANSA facility, Vendor stalls and exhibitor displays showcasing SANSA and stakeholder capabilities, Live music and entertainment
