Mr Mthobisi Zondi

Mr Mthobisi Zondi is a trained Mechanical Engineer and currently the Head of the Supply Chain function within the Department of Defence. He is responsible for end-to-end process integration, policy and strategy development and governance for the materiel value chain. Before joining the Department of Defence, he headed up PetroSA's Logistics Services and was part of the team that developed the Port Master Plans for Durban and Cape Town.

Earlier in his career he also managed and worked on various medium to large-scale engineering projects, including the establishment of 100 000 ton/year polymer plant in Cape Town. His post-graduate qualifications include MSc degrees in Maritime Management (Belgium) and Transport Economics (Belgium and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
